I'm a bit confused about the premise of endgame does the survivor know if there's a way to bring back all those people, or they just want to kill thanos? because there's currently nothing in the story indicating that they realise all those people can be brought back, so all these motivations felt a bit jarring... unless they purely want to kill thanos.

Nah, I want a scene with a mighty warrior coming to him. A fierce fight while both of the warriors are telling to each other that they lost everything to get to this situation. Thanos wins, bury his opponent, back travelling, we see a lot of graves and Thanos bending the knee with respect. Bam! Title screen. And a lot of weird fluids in the room.

I want to see developed the Human factor of the remaining 50%: Watching aunt May asking for Peter to Tony or seeing a family in Denmark mourning the loss of their 3 year old daughter. Maybe Luis learning that Kurt and Dave are gone must be a devastating and emotional scene if developed.
